KIND-HEARTED people raised more than £1,200 for a Stalybridge food bank by rocking out at a fundraising gig.
For the fourth year, The New Stalybridge Labour Club played host to Rock The Foodbank, which saw some of the best local bands in the area perform.
And after this year’s event was headlined by Mossley band Freeda, the smiles cannot be removed from the organisers’ faces.
For an incredible £1203.40 has been raised for Barty’s Foodbank
Tameside bands New Revolution and Plastic Heart were joined by other acts at the Acres Lane venue.
And organiser, Cllr Sam Gosling, said: “I am overwhelmed by how much support we got on the night.
“It was such a great turnout and I’d like to thank all the bands who gave their time for free and everyone who attended.
“I’m proud we raised more than £1,200 for Barty’s as now more than ever food banks are needed.”
And do not expect this to be the last Rock The Foodbank event either as Cllr Gosling added: “We will be back in 2023 and we have plans to make it even bigger.”
