Bridge Fest proves the best

STALYBRIDGE found itself the centre of something special as Bridge Fest proved a massive success.

Now the talk has turned to, ‘Will there be one next year?’

Well, The Correspondent has the answer – yes, on Saturday, September 2.

Several venues in the town saw acts perform over the course of Saturday, September 3, with a variety of musical styles on display.

And judging from the packed houses and the fact people were moving from place to place to see what was on, it is fair to say it was a resounding success.

Organised by Stalybridge Town Team, Bridge Fest was designed to show off both what talent there is on offer but also the places it can be seen at.

And after months of planning and organisation, with chair Ray Harrison and volunteer Chris Tyler playing a huge part, everyone was happy.

The Town Team said: “What a fantastic day!

“There really was something for everybody. A wide variety of live music to suits all tastes.

“To all our venues, a huge thank you for working with us and getting on board – without you all it wouldn’t have happened

“To our wonderful musical artists – you’ve blown us away! A real showcase of talent. Thank you so much for entertaining us all.

“We walked through the town and saw people having fun, dancing, smiling and singing. That made it all worthwhile!”
