LITTERING and fly tipping in Mossley – and how to solve the problem – will be discussed by the town’s council.
And it will hear from Tameside Council about how the borough authority will help them rid the area of rubbish.
Mossley Town Council’s meeting on Wednesday, December 7 will hear from head of operations and green space, Nick Sayers and regulatory services manager, Mike Robinson, after the issue was highlighted by the public.
Issues to be discussed will range from general litter dropping to the unauthorised use of on-street bins for household rubbish.
A lack of bins and enforcement, as well as an increased reliance on volunteer groups such as Mossley Litter Bugs to keep the town clean and tidy, will also be spoken about.
The litter issue also feeds into Mossley Town Council being about to embark on the process leading to a neighbourhood plan for the town
A spokesman said: “We can be confident that litter in Mossley will be a prevalent and justifiable issue of concern to residents when feeding comments on the public consultation aspects of that exercise.
“It will be particularly useful to hear the views of responsible Tameside Council officers prior to that process.”
The next meeting of Mossley Town Council will take place at 8pm at Mossley Methodist Church on Chapel Street.
