MOSSLEY paid tribute to legendary player Allan ‘Bomber’ Brown at their home game against Widnes.
Family members of the full back, who has died aged 73, attended the match as guests of the club.
And Allan’s son Chris and granddaughter Jessica presented the player-of-the-month award for September to Kane Hickman and goal-of-the-month to Jack Bannister for his strike against Witton Albion.
There was one minute’s silence before kick-off and the flag was lowered to half mast in memory of the player who was a member of their Wembley team of 1980 which reached the final of the FA Trophy.
Allan played 446 matches for the Lilywhites between 1970-81 and he is second in the all-time appearance list for the club.
Hi there.
John Salter here. One of the players from Mossley that played at Wembley. Great to have those memories and feedback. Condolences to my team mates who have passed. And also the great Bob Murphy.
Hope you get this response. Happy days.
