Discover Denton’s twin towns at FREE wine & cheese evening

PEOPLE are invited to discover Denton’s twin towns at a free wine and cheese evening in November.

The event – organised by Denton Town Twinning Association – is being held at Tameside Wellness Centre on November 23 at 7pm.

Residents are invited to taste a delicious range of French and German cheeses and wines at an exhibition of Denton’s twin towns.

Denton has two twin towns: Montigny-le-Bretonneux near Paris (France), and Kierspe near Cologne (Germany).

Denton has been twinned with its French twin town for 30 years and its German twin town for 10 years.

Councillor George Newton, Chairman of the town’s Twinning Association, said: “we’re looking forward to hosting another of our famous free wine and cheese evenings — what better way is there to find out about Denton’s twin towns!”

He added: “To us, town twinning isn’t about road signs – it’s about creating opportunity. Through twinning, local children and adults alike have the opportunity to learn a new language, discover a new culture, make friends, share talents or even pick up new ones!”
