MOSSLEY AFC Running Club’s Helen Gregory was the winner of the women’s race at the ‘We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K.
Helen crossed the line in 47min 53sec and was handed £100 from The Running Bee Foundation to give to a charity of her choice.
Mossley resident Helen donated the prize to the Mossley Foodbank.
Mossley also had a further success in the V50 men’s category with Richard Wilson finishing top in 44min 10 sec.
In a slightly longer challenge, the Heights Ultra 50K, Angela Dewhurst crossed the line in 6hrs, 46min and 10sec to finish the sixth leading woman and 27th overall. She was also second in her age category.
This year’s Great North Run saw two Mossley members take on the legendary North East course, Adam Battersby finishing in 1hr, 34min and 21sec and Lee Birmingham in 1:57.33.
Following on from last month’s 12-hour challenge, this month Tony Berry, 66, took on the Equinox 24, over 24 hours and completed 44 miles.
Nicola Steen completed the Chatsworth 10K in 1:03.39.
This month also saw a group of club members take on the SUPRIDERUN challenge which is a triathalon consisting of 3K stand up paddleboarding, 15K mountain biking and a 5K run.
The standout result of the group was Louis Brierley’s 10th place finish.
