MOSSLEY Hollins High school saw success stories aplenty as pupils opened up their GCSE result envelopes.
Top of the class was Noah Cooke, of Carrbrook, who scored an amazing 11 Grade Nines – the equivalent of an A*.

That proved a fine way to round off a well-earned holiday as he heads to Ashton Sixth Form College to study Physics, Computer Science, Maths and Further Maths.
“I’ve just got back from holiday, where I didn’t really think about what results I’d get,” said Noah as high achievers and those who had made great progress gathered at the Huddersfield Road school.

“But as soon as I came back, it just hit me.”
Noah’s proud mum Heather was alongside him as he learned his grades and she said: “I’m so very proud of him.”
Mossley Hollins’ staff and chair of governors, John Denton, saw the moment pupils found out how well they had done.
Tilly McGlashan passed her exams and is now heading to the prestigious BIMM music college in Manchester.
While the highest achieving girl was Kiah Lees, who achieved nine Grade Nines and one Grade Eight despite having her time at Mossley Hollins disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
She said: “I had almost a year off in Year Nine, which is a transition year as you start to study towards your GCSEs.
“I missed a lot of learning but I managed to catch up in Years 10 and 11, I’m so proud I did it.”

Mossley Hollins’ headteacher, Andrea Din, addressed the pupils who had put in years of hard work and effort to achieve their results.
She said: “I know that over the past couple of years there’s been a lot of challenges but you’ve done exceptionally well.
“I couldn’t be prouder and it’s an honour to be sharing your results with you.”
