THERE will be music, food and fun as Fit Over Fifty hosts a ‘Summer of Love’ session in Stalybridge after receiving a grant to make the event possible.
The free event will take place on Saturday, August 20 the Old Thirteenth Cheshire Astley Volunteer Rifleman Pub on Market Street from 12pm-4pm.
All are welcome to come along to celebrate the culture from the swinging 60s, specifically 1966 and 1967 and the summer of love.
There will be music, provided by Real Rock Radio, fancy dress, food and drink.
Fit Over Fifty – a not-for-profit social enterprise community company based in Stalybridge – has been awarded £325 towards hosting a nostalgia event in the town.
The group provides services to older people including reminiscence sessions, an assisted shopping service, domestic support, a companion service and exercise classes with social gatherings.
Tony, manager at Fit over Fifty, said: “This event aims to boost community engagement and guests will be able to take a trip down memory lane with memorabilia, music, archive footage and everyday objects.
“Fancy dress from the era will also be paraded for an extra element of fun!”
