Seventy-two hole golf challenge raises £1,900 for cancer charity

FOUR Dukinfield Golf Club members took part in a marathon charity event by playing four rounds in a day which proved to be the hottest of the year.

Father and son, Andrew and Ben Hughes, Dean Harwood and Liam Craighill played 72 holes in the day at their home course.So far, they have raised £1,900 for Prostate Cancer UK which includes a big donation from Andrew’s employers Chandos Civil Engineering.

They decided to raise money for the prostate cancer charity as they have encountered at some point the terrible hurt cancer can bring to families and want to give something back.

Three of the golfers are from Newton, Hyde, while Liam lives in Stalybridge. They teed off at 5am and finished the challenge at 7.30pm.
