The club has always been located in Victoria Park with Denton historically known worldwide for the manufacture of hats and the club’s nickname ‘The Mad Hatters’ is therefore appropriate.

The start of the new season also coincided with hatters’ trail which was recently held to highlight the hatting history in Denton.

And bowls played a key part in the leisure time of the hatters with matches between the various hatting companies.

Today Victoria Park still provides a green open space and is the hub of the community with the crown green bowling club having stood the test of time with more than 50 club and social members continuing to support the community and provides a meeting place for bowlers and non-players alike for a cup of tea a friendly welcome.
