THREE generations of a Carrbrook family got wet for a great cause by taking part in their own charity swim.
The Whitbreads have raised almost £900 – with more donations welcome – for Diabetes UK after the event at Oldham Hulme Grammar school.
Grandparents Jenny and Mike Whitbread, their children Rachel, Rebecca and Nick and five grandchildren – Chloe, Phoebe, Henry, Daisy and Charlie – ranging from 72 to five-years-old – showed their skill in the pool.
In fact, Phoebe was challenged by coach is Neil Hollingworth, of SwimRight Swimming Club, to do one mile while he did two.
And she beat him – doing hers in 34 minutes – and there was a prize of £10!
