GREATER Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene of a fire in Mossley this evening.
Crews were called to the blaze at the site of the former Jonathan Grange Care Home on Micklehurst Road at approximately 7pm
Smoke can be seen billowing from the windows of the derelict building.
The road has been closed at this stage.
The site has been declared an ‘eye sore’ for a number of years. A planning application was approved last year by Tameside Council to demolish the existing building to pave the way for 14 new homes.
