A STALYBRIDGE store is putting on sessions where people can create their own ways of celebrating the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
Krafty Kits, on Armentieres Square, will be holding 90-minute art and craft events over the course of May where people can turn ideas into reality.
And with then big Royal occasion just around the corner, what better way to let your creative juices flow.

Julie Barnes, who set up Krafty Kits after a lockdown project took off, said: “We’ll be making some bunting, some decorations and a sweet tree with a cupcake and a gingerbread biscuit.
“At the end, they’ll make an ice cream where they can out lots of different toppings on them. It’s a really good 90-minute session for kids.

“They’ll take place on Saturdays and Sundays right up until the jubilee. We can do sessions for under-fours during the week but that would be a mums and tots thing.
“Whereas for the over-fours, we’re enhanced DBS checked and fully insured, so mums can just drop their kids off and have a bit of downtime.”
Krafty Kits can actually put on craft sessions all the time from Tuesday to Saturday and people can pop in and paint a pot, while shopping bags can also be created.

There will be themed sessions throughout the year, with the jubilee being followed by Summer, Hallowe’en and Christmas.
And Julie has just toasted a year in business after what started as a lockdown idea.
She added: “I guess I was kind of bored really as I worked in the travel industry and that all closed down.
“But I used to be a graphic designer, so I started doing craft kits for kids and it evolved from there.
“The kits can be bought off the shelf but they can also be bespoke to people’s tastes.”
*KRAFTY Kits’ 90-minutes jubilee sessions will take place on Saturdays and Sundays in May at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm and cost £20. Booking is advised. You can do so by calling 0161 711 1551.
