Festival to show the spirits

A STALYBRIDGE business is adding a new slant to the town’s scene with its first ever gin and rum festival.

Ol’s Bier and More, on Market Street, is moving back to Stalybridge Celtic’s Bower Fold stadium for the event on Saturday, May 14.

There six distillers will be present on the day, offering samples and in-depth knowledge of their products.

Each distiller will offer drinks to purchase including bottles to take away.

Gin and rum have become much more popular among drinkers over recent years. Now Stalybridge has its chance to showcase the skills of those who create them.

As well as being able to sample the creations and quiz those who make them, attendees will receive a free welcome drink on arrival.

Food and drinks will also be available to purchase on the day with an open bar area and tickets for the event, which runs from 1pm until 6pm, are believed to be selling fast.

They cost £10 plus a booking fee and The Correspondent has teamed up with Ol’s to offer a prize of two free tickets for one lucky reader.
