MOSSLEY homelessness charity Emmaus is ready to put on its first event for more than two years.
A Community Spring Fair on Saturday, April 2, will mark the return of fundraising dates and will kickstart a year of activity to mark its 25th anniversary.
The Emmaus Mossley Community Spring Fair, held at its base on Queen Street, will include live music and stalls from local community groups alongside a charity sale of furniture, homewares, entertainment, upcycled goods, vintage items and fashion.
Darren Bateman, one of the community members at Emmaus Mossley, said: “I’m really looking forward to the atmosphere and welcoming groups, families and individuals to our first event of the year.
“Our community has received great support over the past 25 years so it’s nice to give something back and host a day people will enjoy.”

Emmaus Mossley supports 26 formerly homeless people by providing them with a home, work, companionship and individual support, giving them the opportunity for a fresh start, gaining skills and experience in its Secondhand Superstore alongside training and personal development.
Hazel Hodkinson, Retail Manager at Emmaus Mossley, said: “We’re teaming up with local organisations, artists and musicians to host a fun-filled day for second-hand treasure hunters of all ages.
“In between a good charity shop rummage, you’ll have the chance to learn about our charity, exciting local projects, artists and be entertained throughout the day.”
The Community Spring Fair starts at 10am and all proceeds from the event will support formerly homeless people at Emmaus Mossley.
