JUNIORS’ golf is flourishing at Werneth Low where a coaching course for youngsters sold out in less than 24 hours.
Though the sessions will not begin until Thursday, April 14, they were fully subscribed two months earlier.
They were organised by the junior committee and PGA professional Jamie Tipper to help rebuild the junior section which was badly hit by Covid-19.

Before the pandemic struck, Werneth Low had 56 junior members, but activities were curtailed and youngsters lost.
By organising the coaching, the club is hoping to rebuild the junior section to pre-pandemic numbers.
The club is limited to 30 children, from the age of five, because that is a manageable number.
Ten of the more advanced juniors will be coached by Jamie and the remainder by junior organiser Frazer Armitage and captain Iain White.
Junior membership is only £30 per year plus a mandatory £5 insurance levy. The cost of the coaching sessions will be £2.50.
The club, in their advertisement for the coaching said: “Our aim is to build a strong junior section which benefits the kids getting them out of the house, exercising, making friends and developing new skills.”
