She has featured regularly in the Correspondent for her exploits as she is a member of the Venture Athletics multi-event development group which is based at Manchester’s SportCity.

And an all-rounder in track and field events, Amy is seeking to emulate the achievements of champion heptathletes Jessica Ennis-Hill and Katarina Johnson-Thompson who are her role models.

Amy caught the running bug off her uncle Andi Jones who was a well-known and successful marathon and fell runner.

Initially the former pupil at St Raphael’s Primary, Millbrook, enjoyed cross country and long-distance running before switching to concentrate on field events – she also excels at discus.
