MANCHESTER has always been synonymous with indie music.
From the likes of The Smiths, Oasis, Stone Roses, Joy Division/New Order and many others to more recent bands such as The Courteeners and The 1975.
Tameside, however, is starting to make real waves in the music industry at the moment.

From the likes of Freeda, Narrow Margin, New Revolution and Callow Youth the scene currently has a real buzz about it.
Top of the list at the moment has to be Stalybridge’s own, Cobain Jones.
The Carrbrook native had a great 2021 with the release of his Real Estate EP, which was produced by James Skelly (The Coral) through Run on Records/Modern Sky and received critical acclaim.
With celebrity fans such as The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess, The Courteeners’ Liam Fray and Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boon, Cobain certainly has the right people fighting his corner.
In November, Cobain received a call that propelled him to a new level.
The legendary frontman of The Jam and MOD icon, Paul Weller called on him to perform as a support artist on his tour.

Cobain stepped up to the challenge and has now supported Weller twice, once in Llandudno and once in Middlesbrough.
Earlier this year, Cobain also Supported indie icons Starsailor too.
2021 has been tough for the music industry but Cobain has used this time to write and to practise and his hard work seems to be working.
Next year will see new music and more live dates and we can’t wait to see what’s next for this young man!
