A FAMOUS face dropped in on Stalybridge to do the honours as its Christmas lights were switched on.
Nicole Barber-Lane, more familiar as Hollyoaks’ Myra McQueen, flicked the switch on the display in Armentieres Square.
Before than, local choirs, schools and dance groups entertained the crowds at the event, which was organised by Stalybridge Town Team.
Local bane The Siennas also performed on the stage as the centre reverberated to the sounds of Christmas cheer.
Fairground rides proved popular while local businesses also joined in the occasion as timing proved perfect.
Pretty much as soon as everything was packed up, the weather closed on and rain poured down!
And the sustainable centrepiece – a tree of lights – provides a perfect focal point for festive fun, while another one appeared at the Civic Hall for the final Street Feast on Friday, December 10.
