Dragon breathes fire into events

STALYBRIDGE found itself at the centre of a fight involving a fire-breathing dragon and a fire bat as the heat was turned up.

And creative company Global Grooves will be adding its talents to Mossley’s Christmas lights
switch-ons.

The fire breathing dragon at Stalybridge Street Feast

Bessemer the Dragon and Toni the Fire Bat took centre stage as they paraded around Armentieres Square at the latest Street Feast event.

Accompanied by the Plague Doctors, eyes were fixed on them as they showed why they are so popular.

Not even frequent rain showers could put them or those who came to see them off, with many people asking, ‘When are they appearing?’And when they came, they did not disappoint.

Global Grooves’ creations will form part of festive celebrations in their hometown of Mossley as they will be at two switch-ons.

On Friday, November 26, they will be at the junction of Micklehurst Road and Station Road as Micklehurst turns out its Christmas spirit.

24 hours later, they will form part of the celebrations at the market ground in Top Mossley.
Stalybridge’s next Street Feast takes place on Friday, December 10.
