DENTON CC are top of the Stalybridge Snooker League after six matches and joint leaders with Mossley B of the whist section.
Week four saw Stalybridge Labour beat St Peter’s 3-2, Mossley B overcame Hyde Club 3-2 while Denton CC defeated Staly Vegas 4-1.
In the whist league, there were wins for Denton CC and Mossley B.
Week five produced 3-2 wins for Mossley B at home to St Peter’s and Denton CC against Stalybridge Labour and a 4-1 home victory for Staly Vegas against Hyde Club.
This leaves Denton as league leaders at the end of the first quarter with 17 points.
In the whist league there were wins for Mossley B and Staly Vegas and this leaves Denton CC as league leaders with eight points.
After the first five matches, the quarterly management meeting met to review 18 handicaps.
The league also set out how the season will now evolve. The new handicaps applied to week six when there were 3-2 wins for Denton CC at St Peter’s and Hyde Club against Stalybridge Labour while Staly Vegas triumphed 4-1 against Mossley B.
By the end of these matches, Denton led the snooker by two points ahead of St Peter’s, and in the whist Mossley B and Denton are joint leaders with 10 points.
The league said it is good to be back again and it has been welcomed by all the clubs.
The league is competitive, giving the players the opportunity to socialise every Thursday.
