MOSSLEY’S football ground found itself the centre of all kinds of green activities with a host environmentally-friendly crafts.
Local artist Gordon Banks showed visitors to Emmaus Mossley Seel Park how to make bird, bee and bug houses from materials that can be re-purposed.
It was all part of arts, crafts and wellbeing group ReCreate Mossley’s participation in The Great Big Green Week at the stadium’s community garden. And it has the aim of increasing bio-diversity, both there and in residents’ gardens.
Plenty took part, including Linni Mitchell, Bridie Hayton, Mimi Chilton and Alison Wild as several homes were created.
Anna Oliva, from ReCreate Mossley, said: “We got some new to crafting who learnt useful woodworking skills and some new to sustainable crafting – making or using old or reclaimed materials.
“We hope our bird, bee and bug houses will attract wildlife into the community garden and into people’s own gardens increasing the bio diversity in our local green spaces.”
