BETWEEN Tuesday, November 30, and Thursday, December 16, Tameside Library’s Winter Festival will allow you to indulge in a wide range of free activities designed to help pass time on these grey and chilly days.
You could join a virtual short story writing course with author James Ellson, meet novelist Lulu Taylor, or take part in a murder mystery evening with the help of Droylsden Little Theatre and a plot written especially for libraries by best-selling crime novelist Ann Cleeves.
For children there are winter crafts and pantomime story times with Simon the Storyteller – perfect for the festive season.
Cllr Leanne Feeley, Tameside Council’s executive member with responsibility for libraries, said: “The libraries service has put together a splendid series of activities that’s ideal for this time of year. I think there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
“Who wouldn’t want to play the part of an amateur detective in a murder mystery or enjoy some seasonal crafts? There’s plenty for children too. I’m sure the winter festival will prove very popular so please make sure you book early.”
