ATTENDEES at Stalybridge’s tea dance paid their own tribute with a wartime theme at the weekly event.
Jim and Susan Stafford showed their thanks by honouring the military in costume for what they call the highlight of their week.
And the Friday afternoon gathering, which is run by Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary Club and takes place at the town’s Labour Club, differed from the norm to make sure the occasion was recognised.
For as well as the Staffords’ attire, a minute’s silence was followed by a rendition of Dame Vera Lynn’s White Cliffs of Dover, to which everybody held hands and sang along.
