BUCKTON Vale Primary has become only the third school in the country to become a PERMA/positive education school after completing a certified course.
PERMA stands for P (positive emotion), E (engagement), R (positive relationships), M (meaning) and A (accomplishments/achievements).
It is a model of practice create by Professor Martin Seligman and staff at the Carrbrook school learned about the power of positive psychology from positive psychologist Julie Hurst during an inset day.
They had to complete tasks including balancing an egg, work out a puzzle and understand the power of positive poses. This helps learn about how our brains work.
The exercises taught how important it is to have grit and determination and not to give up.
