A FORMER pub that was left gutted by fire could be turned into six apartments if a planning proposal is given the go ahead.
What was the Flowery Field on Furnace Street is currently a shell following a blaze at the end of January.

But Tameside Council has received an application to convert it into half a dozen flats.
The scheme, submitted by Furnace Street Development Ltd, whose address is given as the pub, will see the internal layout changed to allow for three one-bedroomed properties, two with two bedrooms and one with three, spread across three floors.
To accommodate the changes, the rear dormer would be increased to the full width of the current structure.
About 40 firefighters from across the area – including Hyde, Stockport, Ashton and Gorton – put out the blaze on January 31.
But brickwork, roof slates and parts of guttering still littered the street days after the incident.
Flames were seen lapping from the roof of the building and the unsightly aftermath caused an issue around the area, with the pavement around it still cordoned off days later.
The Flowery Field is thought to have closed in 2018 and no-one was thought to have been injured in the incident.
The planning application will be determined by Tameside Council’s speakers panel (planning) committee.
