IT is all smiles for the dawn of a new era at MIDHS which has become The Peaks Dental and Implant Centre.
The well-established and respected clinic on Arundel Street, Mossley, emerged from lockdown with new owners following the retirement of Maggie Jackson.
But Majid and Tracy Shabab, who have expanded the team and introduced a range of new treatments, are determined it remains at the heart of the community.
The buyout came about by chance after Tracy, who has a consultancy which works with other dental practices, was brought in by Maggie to help with the sale of her dental hygienist business.
Practice manager Bethany Bartley-Jeacock said: “Tracy took an interest and became a potential buyer.
“Maggie was keen the practice was not taken over by a corporate chain and that is also our ethos.
“We are a family-owned business and our key aim it to work with and build relations with the community and continue the legacy which Maggie left.”
Majid, with 30 years’ experience as a dentist, has owned practices in London. He will divide his time between Maida Vale, where he still has a practice, and Mossley.
The change of ownership in June post lockdown provided an additional challenge.
Bethany explained: “Covid-19 was a bump in the road, but we handled it well.
“It showed how strong a team we have that we came straight back into work on June 15 and saw patients from the day we reopened.”
