BAYLEY Street Household Waste and Recycling Centre in Stalybridge will reopen from this Saturday (May 2) but with STRICT measures in place in order to protect residents and staff during the coronavirus pandemic.
The centre will be open daily from 8am – 6pm for local households to dispose of items that cannot be disposed of or recycled in the normal domestic bin collections with the temporary exception of builders’ rubble and electrical items.
Social distancing must be adhered to and only ONE person will be allowed out of the car.
Staff will not be able to assist you with your waste disposal.
TRAFFIC SYSTEM IN PLACE
- Traffic will ONLY be able to approach from the Ashton end of Bayley Street
- Visitors will need to provide proof of address.
- Traffic control system in place based on odd and eve number plates (see picture below)
- You can only visit on the day that matches to your number plate

Tameside Council continues to run a full doorstep bin collections service and people are advised to visit recycling centres only if absolutely necessary.
