Kind-hearted Stalybridge shop offers help to those in need

GENEROUS shop staff have laid on a delivery service to help those either affected by or self-isolating because of the coronavirus outbreak. The Government’s advice on ‘social distancing’ and encouragement for people, particularly those over 70-years-old, to isolate themselves because of the concerns have sparked fears they will be cut off.

But staff at Raja Bros in Carrbrook say they will help by offering to deliver groceries to households who need assistance the most.

The store, based the junction of Huddersfield Road, Crowswood Drive and Buckton Vale Road, said in a statement: “All you need to do is ring with your shopping list and one of the team will deliver your shopping from in store straight to your front door completely free of charge.

“You can pay for your shopping by card over the phone or pay on delivery.

“This service is mainly in place for the elderly or those with young families who simply have no other choice so please be thoughtful.

“Everyone is here to help and is pulling together. Let’s show our amazing community spirit for what it is.”
