MORE than 200 children joined in the Halloween celebrations as Waterloo Action’s annual event returned to Ashton with a bigger venue and a night of spooky fun.
The fifth annual Wicked Waterloo Halloween Event took place on Saturday, October 31, at Ashton Cricket Club, bringing local families together for an evening of Halloween activities, entertainment and treats.

Hosted by Emma Jones from Perry Jones Funeral Services in Ashton, the event welcomed children and families who turned out in their Halloween costumes for a night of frightful fun.
More than 200 free children’s tickets had been booked in advance, with the move to Ashton Cricket Club giving the community more space to enjoy the celebrations.
Activities included a spooky Halloween trail, children’s disco, games, crafts and plenty of sweets, alongside food and drink vendors and a bar.
An eerie blanket of fog also rolled across the outdoor trail, adding to the Halloween atmosphere as families made their way through the spooky surroundings.
The event was organised by Waterloo Action, with Emma leading the celebrations after six weeks of planning and preparation.
Emma said the event was a chance to celebrate five years of bringing Halloween fun to Waterloo.
She said: “What a way to celebrate five years of bringing Halloween fun to our community!

“This year’s event was bigger than ever, with 200 free children’s tickets booked in advance and families joining us at our new venue, Ashton Cricket Club.
“After six weeks of planning and plenty of preparation, it was fantastic to see the children enjoying the spooky activities, Halloween trail, disco, crafts and all the treats on offer.”
Emma thanked the volunteers, donors and supporters who helped make the event possible.
She added: “For me, it’s always been about creating something positive for Waterloo, bringing people together and making sure local children have opportunities to enjoy special experiences without families having to worry about the cost.
“Five years on, the community spirit is still as strong as ever, and I’m incredibly proud of what Waterloo Action has achieved.”
The annual celebration has become a popular fixture for local families, with this year’s event marking five years of bringing the Waterloo community together for Halloween.
Organisers said the success of the event was made possible by the volunteers and local supporters who helped deliver the celebrations.
