COMMUNITIES across Stalybridge are coming together to honour the fallen, with hundreds of poppies appearing throughout the town centre and Carrbrook ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
Councillors and local volunteers have been busy decorating trees and the area surrounding Stalybridge War Memorial, creating a striking display of red poppies in preparation for this year’s commemorations.

The efforts have brought a poignant tribute to the heart of the town, recognising those who served and sacrificed their lives.
Meanwhile, residents in Carrbrook have launched their own Remembrance display for the first time, raising more than £1,000 to purchase 200 poppies for lampposts throughout the village.
The community-funded initiative has been organised with the help of Lindsey Ellis, who appealed for donations to bring the idea to life.
Her husband, Tony Ellis, has been out installing the poppies, with the display already attracting positive comments from residents.
Lindsey thanked everyone who contributed to the fundraising appeal and helped make the project possible.
Both displays reflect the strong community spirit across Stalybridge, with residents and volunteers giving their time to ensure those who lost their lives in conflict are remembered.
The poppies will remain a visible tribute as the town prepares to mark Remembrance Sunday on November 8.
