PEOPLE looking for work, training or help with their finances and wellbeing will be able to meet support organisations under one roof.
Those aged 16 and over who are out of work will have the chance to explore new opportunities and access practical advice at a free event in Stalybridge.
Together for Tameside returns to Stalybridge’s Victoria Market Hall on Friday, October 23, from 10am to 1pm, bringing together organisations offering support with employment, education, health and everyday challenges.
The drop-in event is aimed at unemployed Tameside residents and is designed to help those who may be struggling to find their next step or need a little extra support to get back on track.
Visitors will be able to speak directly to organisations about everything from finding a job or volunteering opportunity to improving their digital skills, accessing mental health support and managing money, debt or housing issues.
Advice will also be available on training, education, family services and children’s support, with no pressure to sign up to anything.

Among the organisations expected to attend are Citizens Advice Tameside, Age UK, Action Together, Jigsaw Support, the Department for Work and Pensions, Manchester College, Tameside College and Talking Therapies.
Council services – including WorkWell, Be Well Tameside and Careers – will also be available to offer guidance.
“Together for Tameside is a brilliant opportunity to access a wealth of support and guidance all under one roof,” said Cllr Leanne Feeley, Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture.
“It allows residents to connect directly with organisations and chat with those who understand, in a friendly environment. Attendees will be met with a warm welcome and plenty of ideas for their journey to gain more purpose and focus in their lives.
“I encourage anyone interested to come along and make the most of this fantastic event.”
Organised by Tameside Council’s Employment and Skills Team, Together for Tameside takes place several times a year, giving residents the opportunity to find out what help is available and discuss their circumstances face-to-face with local services.
More information can be obtained by contacting the council’s Employment and Skills team at employmentandskills@tameside.gov.uk or on 0161 342 3111. A full list of attending organisations is available at tameside.gov.uk/together-for-tameside.
