ASHTON-UNDER-LYNE’S hit Artisan Market is out to make a bigger impression as it returns.
For this time, almost 75 independent businesses will come together on Sunday, October 18 for a celebration of creativity, community and local enterprise.

Award-winning market operator Independent Street is bringing another fantastic day of artisan shopping, live music and family fun to the heart of the town around its market place.
Taking place from 11am until 4pm, it promises a fantastic shopping experience, with an impressive selection of talented makers, bakers, artists, designers and artisan food and drink producers.
Visitors can expect everything from handcrafted jewellery, homeware, candles and unique gifts to artisan cheeses, freshly baked cakes, brownies, sweet treats, clothing and delicious street food.
The market, organised by award-winning Independent Street in partnership with Tameside Council, continues to grow.
And alongside the shopping opportunities, visitors will be treated to a lively programme of entertainment, including live music from the fabulous Tina Sax, free Halloween children’s arts and crafts by Mila and free face painting for the little ghouls and monsters or any dad wanting to be Frankenstein for the day,
Independent Street founder Lisa Cowley is delighted to be returning to Ashton following the enthusiastic response to previous markets.
She said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be returning to Ashton this Sunday with another incredible line-up of independent businesses.
“To have almost 75 fantastic traders joining us is wonderful, and it really demonstrates the appetite for events that celebrate independent businesses and bring something exciting into our town centres.
“We have such a brilliant mix of traders this month, from talented local makers and artists to incredible bakers and food producers. There really is something for everyone.

“For us, these markets are about so much more than shopping. They’re about bringing people together, creating a fantastic atmosphere and giving independent businesses a platform to showcase what they do best.
“We’re also passionate about supporting the existing businesses in Ashton. We want people to visit the artisan market, but also to explore the town centre, pop into the shops, enjoy the cafés and discover everything Ashton has to offer.
“When people come together to support their high street, everybody benefits.”
Lisa also praised the continued support of Tameside Council, whose partnership has helped bring the artisan market to the heart of Ashton-under-Lyne.
She added: “I really cannot thank the team at Tameside Council enough for their incredible support, enthusiasm and commitment.
“It is an absolute pleasure working alongside a council that genuinely believes in supporting independent businesses, creating vibrant town centres and delivering events that bring communities together.
“Their hard work behind the scenes is hugely appreciated, and we’re really excited about continuing to build on the success of Ashton Artisan Market together.
“We would love to see another fantastic turnout, so please come along, bring your family and friends, enjoy the entertainment and show your support for all these brilliant independent businesses.”
