YOUNG footballers joined community volunteers to help give Stalybridge a spruce-up during the latest town clean-up.
Members of Stalybridge Celtic Under-8s, along with their parents and carers, teamed up with Stalybridge Town Team volunteers for the community effort on Saturday, September 26.
After meeting at the Town Team Hub in Armentieres Square, volunteers split into groups before heading out across the town centre and along the canal.
They spent the morning collecting litter and tidying areas as part of the Town Team’s ongoing efforts to keep Stalybridge looking its best.
The regular clean-ups are organised by volunteers and encourage residents, community organisations and local groups to get involved and play their part in improving the town.
Stalybridge Town Team thanked everyone who gave up their Saturday morning to help.
They said: “These clean-ups simply wouldn’t happen without people giving up their time, so thank you to every single person who came along and got stuck in.
“We’re incredibly grateful – and proud of our community.”
The clean-up was the latest example of local groups working together, with Stalybridge Celtic’s youngsters and their families helping the Town Team volunteers make a visible difference across the town.
