New wellness event at Ashton community centre

PEOPLE in Tameside will be able to press pause and focus on their wellbeing at a new event this weekend.

4C Community Centre is hosting its first dedicated wellness event, bringing together talks, therapeutic activities and opportunities to relax under one roof.

‘Restore and Reset’ will take place on Sunday (September 27) from 9.30am to 4.30pm, with a range of activities planned throughout the day.

Visitors to the Taunton Road centre will be able to choose from therapeutic sessions including massage, an art therapy workshop, a sound bath, tai chi and guided meditation.

There will also be talks from organisations working in areas including mental health and resilience.

Speakers are expected to include Andy’s Man Club, The Power of Resilience and The Anthony Seddon Fund, with further names due to be announced.

The event has three ticket options. A free ticket gives visitors access to the talks and stalls, as well as a warm-up activity and breathwork session. A £15 Wellness ticket includes all of this, plus one therapeutic activity, while the £30 Wellness+ ticket includes three therapeutic activities.

There will be plenty happening outside the main programme too.

The centre’s café will be serving healthy food options, while the pottery studio will be open from 10am until 12.30pm for anyone wanting to try some therapeutic creativity.

Tickets are limited and anyone wanting to attend can book by emailing josie@4ccommunitycentre.org.uk
