MYSTERY, murder and Victorian thrills are coming to the Tameside stage as a theatre company brings its adaptation of H.G. Wells’ classic The Invisible Man.
Don’t Go Into The Cellar! is returning to Guide Bridge Theatre following the sell-out success of its production of The Hound of the Baskervilles.
The company, known for its theatrical takes on Victorian-era stories with a darker edge, will turn its attention to Wells’ science fiction classic for its latest performance.
The Invisible Man follows the deranged scientist Griffin after he discovers a drug that makes him invisible, with his experiment ultimately leading him on a murderous rampage across the Sussex countryside.
Actor Jonathan Goodwin will take on a host of characters during the performance, as well as scripting the show himself. He also co-directs the production alongside Gary Archer.
The company describes itself as practitioners of “theatrical Victoriana in a macabre vein”, promising an evening of thrills, chills and humour.
The performance will take place at the Manchester Road venue in Audenshaw on Friday, September 25.
Doors open at 6.45pm, with the performance starting at 7.30pm.
