Stalybridge town centre was alive with music as thousands of visitors and performers came together for the biggest Bridge Fest yet.
The volunteer-organised festival returned on Saturday, September 5, with 41 acts performing across 14 venues, all completely free to attend.
St John’s Band got the day under way in Armentieres Square before live music spread throughout the town, with performers including Rock Choir, Anita Louise, Finn Dale, Glenna Rae, Lock50, Izzi and Jason and Joe James Connor among those taking to the stage.
Venues were packed throughout the day, with everything from country and folk to rock, pop and choir performances on offer. Guest Beers was among those drawing a crowd as live country music brought a distinctly different sound to the festival.
Victoria Market Hall also became a hub of activity, with workshops and entertainment giving younger visitors the opportunity to get involved.
Now in its fifth year, Bridge Fest has grown year on year, bringing together independent venues, musicians, businesses and visitors from across the area.
The event is organised by Stalybridge Town Team volunteers, with the support of sponsors, venues and performers, as part of their work to promote the town and encourage people to discover what Stalybridge has to offer.
The day also brought a special surprise for the volunteers when they were presented with an award by the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester in recognition of their “good and valuable services to the community.”
