FAMILIES in Mossley are being encouraged to keep their eyes peeled as a popular treasure hunt returns to the town.
Funeral director Anthony Barton has once again organised a Daisy Hunt, with daisies, three special sunflowers and even envelopes containing cash hidden in locations around the local area.
The hunt is designed to give local families something fun to do together, with prizes available for those lucky enough to make a discovery.
Anyone who finds one of the hidden daisies can take it to Anthony Barton Independent Family Funeral Service on Stamford Street, opposite the fire station, to exchange it for a prize.
But there are some bigger rewards waiting to be found too.
Three special sunflowers have been hidden around Mossley, with each finder receiving a £50 voucher to spend at Cockfields Farm. Children are asked to have a parent with them when collecting the voucher.
Money envelopes have also been placed in different locations, giving lucky finders some extra spending money.
The only rule is that people should only claim one find, allowing as many members of the community as possible to join in the fun.
Those taking part are also being encouraged to share pictures of their discoveries on Facebook and tag the funeral home.
The Daisy Hunt is one of several community activities organised by the Mossley business throughout the year, alongside themed hunts at Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
Participants are reminded to stay safe while searching, not enter private property and avoid putting themselves in danger.
