A TAMESIDE charity supporting families affected by the loss of a baby or child is preparing to put on a Summer Fair for the community.
Finding Rainbows will hold the event at Cheetham Park in Stalybridge on Sunday, August 23.
The charity based in Ashton-under-Lyne says the fair – on from 11am to 4pm – will balance entertainment with opportunities for remembrance, support and conversation.
Finding Rainbows – which has been supporting bereaved families since it was founded in 2012 – hopes the event will help create lasting memories for local families while also encouraging open conversations around grief and loss.
Visitors can expect guest speakers, support talks, local community organisations, live music, dance performances, fairground rides, gift stalls, refreshments and sweet treats.
Dedicated bereavement support and remembrance areas will also provide a safe space for reflection, while information stalls will offer guidance for anyone affected by baby loss, child loss or early pregnancy loss.
Finding Rainbows says one of its main aims is to create an environment where families feel comfortable talking about grief and the challenges that come with it, while ensuring children and relatives can enjoy a positive day out together.
The charity – founded by Natalie Paul after the loss of her baby boy Kaiden – is also appealing for support from the wider community ahead of the event.
Stallholders are still being sought, particularly those selling remembrance gifts, keepsakes or bereavement-related items. Anyone interested in exhibiting will need to provide their own table, gazebo and chairs.
Local businesses are also being encouraged to donate vouchers, prizes, unopened gifts or bottles for the event’s tombola, with proceeds helping Finding Rainbows continue its support for families across the area.
The Summer Fair will take place at Cheetham Park, and is being supported by Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary.
