Haughton Green to see improvement work after funding boost

HAUGHTON Green is to benefit from £40,000 of funding that will go towards improvements in ten area.

The money, from the Price in Place fund, has been awarded following a successful bid.

And it will be spent on new street furniture, improved lighting, resurfacing works, new signage and greening initiatives.

Denton South Cllr George Newton led the bid for Haughton Green and after learning of its success, work is expected to begin later this year.

He said: “I am delighted we’ve secured £40,000 for Haughton Green.

“Haughton Green has incredible community spirit, but the village needs some TLC.

“This money will go a long way to making the village an even better place to live, shop, eat and drink.

“I would like to thank everyone who supported the campaign and helped make the case for investment.

“I look forward to seeing work get underway later this year.”
