Representatives from Cedar Park Food Pantry recently visited Parliament to discuss their work supporting young families and highlight the challenges facing low-income households across the community.
During the visit, the team met with local MP Angela Rayner to discuss a range of issues affecting families, including the rising cost of living, housing pressures and access to essential items for babies and young children.

A key focus of the discussion was the importance of ensuring new mothers can access baby formula. The food pantry is particularly concerned that families struggling financially may feel forced to use alternatives such as cow’s milk for young babies, which can be harmful to their health.
The visit provided an opportunity for the charity to share its experiences supporting local families and to highlight the growing demand for assistance as household budgets continue to come under pressure.
Angela Rayner MP praised the organisation’s commitment to the community and the support it provides to those in need.
She said: “It was wonderful to have the team from Cedar Park with me in Parliament and we had a really productive discussion about the issues they are so passionate about.
“The group are so committed to supporting their local community and I am incredibly proud to represent them as their local MP.”
