ASHTON United Football Club is calling on volunteers to help get Hurst Cross ready for next season.

Fans and members of the community are being invited to lend a hand with a series of ground improvement days.

The Northern Premier League Premier Division club is looking for volunteers to help make the stadium “look brand new for another season” over four weekend sessions.

The volunteer days will run from 10am until 2pm on Saturday June 27, Sunday June 28, Saturday July 11 and Sunday July 12, with people welcome to drop in and out throughout the day.

There will be a variety of jobs to get involved with, including weeding around the pitch and perimeter, painting, and tidying up the terraces ahead of the new campaign.

Equipment and refreshments will be provided, with the club asking only for volunteers to bring themselves and get stuck in.

No booking is required, you can simply turn up on the day.
