THE curtain could soon rise on a new generation of productions at Guide Bridge Theatre, as the Tameside venue opens the doors to aspiring directors looking to bring their ideas to the stage.
The Audenshaw Road theatre is inviting anyone with a passion for directing to submit proposals for its 2027/28 season.
Rather than selecting shows behind closed doors, the theatre’s artistic team is once again opening the process to applications from directors, with ideas ranging from much-loved classics to bold new concepts.
Applicants will first submit their pitch online, with those shortlisted invited to an in-person pitch day on Saturday, September 5.

The event will give directors the opportunity to share their vision, discuss their approach and ask questions before the artistic team finalises the season.
The theatre is encouraging both experienced directors and those with a strong desire to take their first steps into directing to get involved.
For anyone interested in finding out more before applying, Guide Bridge Theatre is hosting two Q&A sessions.
The first takes place online via Google Meet on Thursday, June 25, from 7pm to 8pm, while a drop-in session will be held at the theatre on Saturday, July 4, from 1pm to 4pm. The deadline for submissions is Friday, August 14.
