VOLUNTEERS behind one of Stalybridge’s most popular community events have received a welcome funding boost thanks to the generosity of Tameside Rotary.
For the Town Team has been awarded £250 to support this year’s Bridge Fest, the annual music festival which brings live entertainment, visitors and a vibrant atmosphere to the centre.

The volunteer-led organisation said it was delighted to receive the donation, which will help towards the costs of staging the event and continuing to provide free entertainment for the community.
Vice chair of Stalybridge Town Team, Chris Tyler, said: “We are thrilled to receive a cash boost of £250 from Tameside Rotary to go towards our annual Bridge Fest music event.
“It’s great to have the support of the community with this event and our team of volunteers work so hard to bring Bridge Fest to Stalybridge each year.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to Tameside Rotary and Mark Llewellin, High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, for their support.”
Bridge Fest has become a highlight of Stalybridge’s events calendar, showcasing local musical talent and helping to attract visitors into the town while supporting local businesses.
The donation reflects Tameside Rotary’s ongoing commitment to supporting community projects and initiatives that make a positive difference across the borough.
