A HYDE businessman and philanthropist has been honoured with a prestigious Lifetime Outstanding Achievement Award for his exceptional contribution to public life.
Mohammed Mizanur Rahman Mizan received his recognition at a civic reception hosted by the Chester and North Wales Bangladeshi Youth Association (CANBYA).
It comes after years of raising funds to help people both in his local community and his home country, which he represented at hockey.

And now former Hyde Werneth Councillor Shibley Alam was one of eight people to be held is such esteem.
Mr Mizan, owner of Adnan’s restaurant on Market Street in Hyde, has dedicated decades to serving people, with a strong focus on community development and humanitarian work.
He is also involved in the media as bureau chief for Channel S Television.
As well as that, he founded of the Just Help Foundation, which has established an eye hospital in Sylhet, Bangladesh, in 2006.
That facility has treated over 12,000 patients and performed more than 6,900 free cataract surgeries over the past 12 years.
He has also actively supported charities and educational initiatives across the UK, particularly within Tameside.
Somehow, he also finds the time to be director and chairman of the British Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (North West region), promoting business collaboration.
Mr Mizan received his honour at a reception put on by the Lord Mayor of Chester on Monday, May 4.
His citation read: “This recognition celebrates his dedication, leadership, and long-standing commitment to community service, civic engagement, and the betterment of society.”
As well as Mr Mizan and former Cllr Alam, people from the North West region were also recognised, including Ali Akbor OBE, Muzahid Khan MBE, Anwar Ali OBE and Dr Musarraf Hussain for their contributions across various sectors.
