A Stalybridge nursery praised for its recent Ofsted improvement has welcomed a visit from the Civic Mayor of Tameside.
Civic Mayor of Tameside, Cllr Shibley Alam, visited Sky High Achievers following its latest inspection, which marked a significant turnaround after the setting was taken over nearly three years ago.
The nursery had previously been rated ‘Inadequate’, but inspectors recently recognised clear progress, highlighting improvements in leadership, care and the learning environment.
During the visit, the mayor met managing director Fiona, associate director Lucy, nursery manager Kim and the wider staff team, who shared the journey of the provision and the work that has gone into raising standards.

Councillor Alam also officially opened the nursery’s new baby unit, cutting the ribbon before spending time meeting children and seeing activities in action.
Staff said the visit was a proud moment and an opportunity to showcase the progress made since taking over the setting, as well as their ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality early years education in Stalybridge.
