ORGANISERS have confirmed that the annual Gee Cross Fete will not take place this year due to unforeseen circumstances.
The popular community event, held each year at Sam Redfern Green and organised by Hyde Rotary Club, has been cancelled for 2026.

In a statement, organisers said the decision had not been taken lightly, citing unexpected personal circumstances affecting members of the team.
They said the situation meant they were unable to give the event the “time, energy and attention it deserves”.
The fete is a well-loved fixture in Gee Cross, attracting families each year with stalls, entertainment and community activities.
Organisers thanked the public for their continued support and understanding, adding that their immediate focus is on supporting those involved behind the scenes.
They have, however, reassured residents that the event will return in 2027, with plans already in place to make it “bigger and better”.
