CURZON Ashton has announced a change in the boardroom with the resignation of its chairman.
John Clayton has brought his 14-year association with the football club to an end.
He took over as chairman in 2024 from Wayne Salkeld but has stepped down due to ‘personal circumstances’.

The club said he has “overseen some of the club’s most successful periods” as both chairman and director.
“The Board of Directors would like to place on record their thanks to John for the enormous contribution he has made to the club over the last 14 years, particularly during his time as chairman,” the Nash added in a statement on Monday (March 9).
Curzon have said that current vice-chairman Jim Newall will take on the role of chairman for an interim period and a long-term decision on the position will be “decided in the near future”.
The Nash currently sit 15th in the National League North – the sixth tier of English football – following Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at leaders South Shields.
Next up for Mark Bradshaw’s men – who seem too far adrift of reaching the promotion play-offs and not in danger of relegation – on Tuesday (March 10) is the visit of an Oxford City side who are hovering just one place and two points above the bottom four.
