PEOPLE living in Haughton Green can now book in to indulge in their reading passion after a little library was finally installed.
The dream of bringing a facility back to the area after its permanent one closed in 2012 has become reality.
For after more than £2,100 was raised, the box was put in place at the Tommy Todd on Friday, February 20.

Now people can take a book – and leave one – at any time of the day.
“I can’t believe it’s actually here,” said Sam, the woman behind the scheme, as engineers installed the final screws before the library was stocked with donated books.
“The community has been massively supportive, really getting behind it, sharing it on social media, posting to shop windows.
“Local community groups had made things for themselves. It’s been overwhelming how supportive the community has been.”
The new red library cannot go unnoticed given its location and the excitement is not dulling.

Now it is packed with titles suitable for all ages, with many more that could go in.
And like any addition, things will be added, like a latch to stop the door blowing closed.
Sam added: “It’s going to have a few extra bits added here and there.
“But it’s made of really good stuff. It’s weatherproof as well. It’s something that looks amazing.
“The community is going to love and be really, really proud of. I wanted to get this into the community.
“The community has paid for this. People have supported a project that was essentially something I loved and I wanted, but clearly they wanted it too.”
Now the library is in place, titles placed inside ranged from The Diary of a Wimpy Kid to ones by Jeremy Clarkson.
And the hope is it can become a place where people tell of their favourite reads.
Sam told The Correspondent: “All the books are ones that have been donated. It’s a mix.
“I’ve got kids’ books, which is great. One of the schools had a book drive, so we got some from there. I’ve got crime, sci-fi, rom-com, romance, all sorts.
“And the idea is you take a book, leave a book. If you don’t have a book to leave, that’s fine.
“We’re going to develop it so people will leave reviews.”
