Locala Community Partnerships CIC awarded prestigious Investors in People Gold accreditation

Locala awarded prestigious Investors in People Gold accreditation – strengthening its commitment as a social enterprise delivering outstanding community healthcare

Locala Community Partnerships CIC – a not-for-profit social enterprise, recognised as a “business for good” – has been awarded the We invest in people – Gold accreditation by Investors in People (IIP).

This national recognition, achieved by fewer than 20% of organisations assessed, reflects Locala’s strong culture, its focus on staff wellbeing, and its commitment to delivering high quality care for patients and communities.

Colin Lynch, Chair, and Karen Jackson, CEO

As a social enterprise that reinvests its profits back into local communities, Locala’s Gold accreditation demonstrates that its people feel supported, trusted, and able to deliver their best.

The assessors highlighted strong alignment to organisational values, collaborative working, and improving leadership capability as key strengths.

Stronger teams, better care

The IIP assessment found that Locala colleagues feel confident using their initiative, well supported by their teams, and proud of the care they provide. Over 90% said their behaviour aligns with the organisation’s values – a reflection of Locala’s friendly and collaborative culture.

This culture of support, learning and shared purpose underpins the quality of community services it offers, primarily across West Yorkshire and the Greater Manchester. The Gold accreditation provides further assurance that the organisation’s social-purpose mission, centred on improving health and reducing inequalities, is delivering better outcomes for local people.

What leaders say

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said:

“We’d like to congratulate Locala. Achieving Gold accreditation on We invest in people is a fantastic effort for any organisation, and it places Locala in fine company with organisations that recognise the value of their people and invest consistently in enabling them to thrive.”

Karen Jackson, Chief Executive of Locala, said:

“This achievement reflects the compassion and professionalism our colleagues show every single day. Gold accreditation matters because when our people thrive, our patients benefit. As a social enterprise – one that reinvents its resources into local communities – our people-centred approach is fundamental to who we are. I’m incredibly proud of how our teams care for our patients, communities and for one another – continually shaping the positive, supportive culture we are committed to building.”

Colin Lynch, Chair of Locala, said:

“Reaching Gold is a fantastic milestone. It shows that truly valuing and investing in our colleagues, leads to better services and stronger trust with the communities we serve. We’ll continue building on this success as we move into the next phase of our strategy.”

A foundation for the future

The accreditation strengthens Locala’s ongoing commitment to improving community health, reducing inequalities, and creating positive experiences for patients, carers and families. As part of this, Locala will continue to prioritise developing and embedding Psychological Safety across all teams – ensuring colleagues feel safe to speak up, share ideas, and contribute to continuous improvement.

As a social enterprise, Locala will continue to use its resources to benefit local people, reinvesting in services, support and projects that help communities to thrive. This recognition provides a strong platform for the next steps.
